Customer service and communication was excellent. Attention to detail on interior cleaning was excellent. Summer kept me informed and help me make informed decisions.

Please explain your complaint in detail:
In 2021, I purchased a new VW Jetta from University VW. This made the 3rd purchase from this dealership and have owned nothing but VW my entire life. One day after this purchase, the battery on the car was faulty and had to be replaced. Two weeks later tire went flat and was told it was not properly put on the rim. two months after that, the rear view mirror fell off the window. In between these issues my car warning lights continued to fire off for no reason. I complained to VW and the ... Read More DealerRater - Aug 8, 2024

Top notch service from Jon Pollock. He made the buying process so easy and personal. He understood what I was looking for and had a great attention to detail. We’ll keep going back and refer friends and family.

I was on a waiting list for about 9 months for my new Golf R. While I certainly appreciate University VW keeping me on the list and notifying me of an inbound vehicle, I didn't appreciate being charged more than MSRP as I know I could have found a vehicle elsewhere in the US for MSRP, but in the end, it was much easier to buy locally, and I don't have any regrets about my purchase as it all went smoothly. In the four months I've owned my Golf R it has been flawless.

I lost my key. I went to a locksmith first, who led me on for 3 days before admitting they could not program the key they made to my car. I brought my car and the freshly made key to University dealership. They told me I need to order a factory key and it would take 5-7 business days. They were able to get it in 2 days and immediately programed the key to my car! In addition gave me a complimentary check up. They were so quick and friendly overall. Not having a car was so stressful. Their quick and friendly ... Read More DealerRater - Feb 27, 2021

I purchased my 2019 Volkswagen AllTrack in May of 2020… to date it has spent 6+ weeks in Service (yes… it is met the criteria of lemon law). Volkswagen does not seem to understand there is a worldwide pandemic going… and that King County has yet to make it fully into phase 2 of reopening. There are those Trump based Covid Deniers out there… and this dealership is part of the problem. They seem to find it perfectly acceptable to continually send me out in a car that breaks down on the freeway… on the way to the grocery store… trying to make a ... Basically the quality of work is worse than negligent. They are friendly but have no idea what is going on in service. I went in for radio code and ended up eventually towing my car somewhere else with a window that would not roll up and no start issue they told me would cost 900 dollars to diagnose. My mechanic found that they pierced a wire testing and broke the glow plug connector in the process of doing my glow plug recall update. They didnt take any responsibility and told me my old car had electrical issues when it was there ... Read More DealerRater - May 20, 2019

Technical advisers were all really friendly and useful. However the quality of the work performed in the shop reserves a warning to other VW owners... Here goes.

I got my car towed to this dealership to get it fixed under warranty after the intake manifold failed. They did install a new intake manifold. I drove it home the same day only to have the car fail again when a hose connection came loose on that same manifold! Got the car towed again; the staff apologized and explained that the mechanic would carefully go over all bolts and hoses ... Read More DealerRater - Sep 21, 2017

Service Dept. is polite and professional, committed to eventually get it right on basic maintenance and several warranty items. Following service for example, look for oil changes being clean w/no mess around the filter and the sound pan underneath the engine. Put a piece of tape over the oil or fuel filter cap or drain plug if it’s still there when you pick it up well…. Ask to look at old parts to verify they actually replaced them. Stress that the service advisor confirms workmanship before calling you on all items. As a Quality Engineer on the plans ... Read More DealerRater - Jan 9, 2016

I had a great experiencing leasing my car through University Volkswagen. All of the staff I encountered was very helpful, especially Eric Lauritzen. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped to expedite the process in finding the car best suited to my needs and price range. He has been there to answer all questions I have had regarding my new car from its features to service inquiries. University Volkswagen provided great and seamless service!

The people at U Volkswagon, and several customer service reps have helped me since I got my Passat, are the nicest, friendliest people and they make servicing and fixing your car as painless as it's ever gonna get. I like them as much as I like my Passat. And that's a lot.

From the first time that I met Kaitlyn Richardson to inquire about a new VW Sport Wagon lease, to the point that we ended up buying the new Sport Wagon,I was treated with supeb customer care, excellent information and a non-pressured discussion of options to start driving the new car. This is how customer serve should be, and kudos to the dealership for having the likes of Kaitlyn on-board customer-facing. I am very impressed with the service, automobile quality and everything about this dealership. Craig Smith, MD

My experience was exceptional and I can't thank Nic and the rest of the team at University VW enough for the smooth, pleasant process of leasing my new GTI.

I was very pleased with my purchase from University VW. I bought a certified used 2009 CC. The car was ready for a test drive within 20 minutes of my call. My sales staff (Miles DeCaro and Guy Kelly) were very knowledgeable of the car and the entire VW product line and business operation. I did extensive research on pricing prior to coming to the UVW and was able to pretty quickly negotiate a purchase price that I believe was objectively fair to both sides, and I got what I wanted on my trade in. Jon Crawford in finance was thorough and ... Read More DealerRater - Jun 14, 2012

KARINE IN INTERNET SALES MADE THIS AN AMAZING BUYING EXPERIENCE!
I have had bad experiences in the past when buying a car - spending hours waiting on paperwork and working with unfriendly/pushy sales staff. This was a complete 180 from those experiences, and what a pleasant surprise!
I work at Microsoft and purchased through our employee discount... thus I was able to work with Karine who handles these sorts of sales. I sent an email asking very specific questions about pricing, financing options and car availabity and stated that I wanted this particular purchase to be quick and painless... otherwise ... From beginning to end, our new car purchase was an excellent experience. We were shopping for a Golf R, a limited production car. We had visited another area VW dealership and we were told that "Golf R's are very difficult to get" and "why not consider a GTI, since it's basically the same car". At University VW, though, instead of discouraging us from buying the car that we want, Sean was excited that we were interested in the Golf R. University VW had an allocated Golf R that someone else decided not to buy, ... Read More DealerRater - May 31, 2012

I can't say enough good things about University! I have bought 3 cars from them and each time was an amazing experience. They even picked me up in the car and brought me to the dealership to complete one of the sales! Amazing service from the sales and finance staff! They are always courteous and I have never felt pressured at all. No hard sale here! They were always very attentive to what I was looking for each time. "Heck yeah" should be an option for the recommendation question!
Also, I will only go to University to service ... Read More DealerRater - Apr 26, 2012

First off, I would like to say I came to University Volkswagen as a first time buyer. I explained to the salesperson that I had never bought a "new" car before. He was very helpful and friendly. We walked around the lot together and I spotted an 08 Rabbit. I explained what my budget was and that I would be willing to pay $15k for that particular car. He said, "OK, lets go get the paperwork started!"
I thought we were going to write up the paperwork on the car for $15k. I was wrong. The finance ... Read More DealerRater - Jul 24, 2011

In every business and business transaction there can be bumps in the road. The true measure of a business is how the business handles the bumps. I have bought a lot of cars over the years from many dealers. There are very few that have the fortitude and savy to handle bumps...they didnt measure up.
University did. This is a dealership you can count on. Larry Downer the sales manager is a stand-up guy and Jameson is as sincere and customer focused as you could ever expect in a car salesman.

I can't say enough about the awesome experience I had when I recently leased my new Eos from University Volkswagen.
My salesperson, Miles DeCaro, was extraordinarily knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and not at all pushy. I've had the typical car dealership experience where they try to sell you on a car you don't really want just so they can move inventory, or try to up-sell you into a car you can't afford or extras you don't need. This was the polar opposite of that. Miles seemed genuinely interested in finding the car that was ... Read More DealerRater - Sep 28, 2010

1. They lost my car
2. They told my insurance company things that made my life a living xxxx, then later said "oops" and recanted that
3. They fixed the wrong part
4. The Service Manager, Philip Spagnoli, was rude and threatening
5. They sent an electrical surge through my car that fried my radio, alarm, and anything electrical. I went to pick my car up and found my radio to be completely dead. They took my car back, again, and gave me a loaner car.
6. My paperwork clearly said to return my loaner car by 8pm on monday. I have copies. At 9:30... Read More DealerRater - Jan 6, 2010

I asked for an internet price on a Jetta Sportswagon TDI which came back $3000 above MSRP! Amazing how stupid they must think we are. They then told me that this is because of a "market adjustment" because they couldn't restock their inventory. What a lie. They just know that people in Seattle really want the Jetta Sportswagon TDI and so they are trying to fleece us for trying to be environmentally conscious. Please stay away from this dishonest dealership.

Very nice experience with Un. VW. I got a very good quote from them via the internet. Their price blew away the quote I got from Chaplin's. I worked with a young salesman named Miles. He was friendly and knowledgeable. They got me a fair price on my trade and explained everything thoroughly. I would highly recommend.

Great dealership. Shopped at several VW dealerships in the area that came in at higher quotes, but Karl and his manager made me feel like I was not going to regret purchasing my new VW at University. They were professional and very easy to deal with. They answered all of my questions and never made me feel like I was in a typical car dealership environment. Great job to them and I hope to do more business with them in the future.

I would recommend this dealership because the sales person I used was very helpful, and the dealership had the inventory I was looking for. However, my experience with the finance manager was terrible. He was rude and arrogant, and he made it clear that since we were paying in cash, he didn't care how he treated us (since he couldn't make money selling us a lease or through financing).

I bought my Jetta TDI from University Volkswagen in 2004. Not only do I love the car, but it was the best sales experience I've ever had. My salesperson is no longer there, but he was great. Seemed like "one of us," not a slickster. Another salesperson put my rain guards on for me when they came into service without my even asking. My subsequent experiences with service department have been excellent, too. Even if I'm doing warranty work, I'm treated the same way. Everyone answers my questions and I've never felt cheated or resented (... Read More DealerRater - Jun 14, 2007
